Nature: Best Architect, EVER!

I do believe nature trumps everyone when it comes to fine architecture! I love visiting ancient man-made architecture, and have Ooo’d and Ahhh’d in Egypt, Turkey and various parts of Europe so far in my life. But every time I witness the effortlessness with which Nature designs and executes her creations, I’m speechless. If you know me, you know that’s saying ALOT!

I’m known for shooting landscapes, but I really love getting up close and personal like this. It’s soothing, comforting even. Not only do I love the world-within-worlds and the intricacy of such astounding design; I feel expanded by the sheer proof of intelligence far beyond our own at work, every single day. It’s so easy to get caught up in our own self-importance, goals, the next meeting, the next great… whatever. But images like this reminds me that we’re not alone, we have big love and support all around us and that beauty lives and breathes. These things are as natural to us as our own heartbeat.

We certainly know beauty when we see it. That is one quality that never has to be explained or justified. Everyone knows what is beautiful to them, what leaves them breathless in awe. The way I see it, Beauty is built into the architecture of life itself. It would be a different world, wouldn’t it, if we all spent some goodly portion of our time looking for the beauty and awe in everything? Man, I’d love living a world like that. In the meantime, I’ll just keep creating my own little microcosm of it. You’re welcome to join, if you like!

I imagine sometimes that’s what Nature and the greater intelligence had in mind in the first place; to make beauty all over the dang place and wait for folks to notice it. Knowing full and well that when they do, they’ll be healed and uplifted in ways they can’t even imagine until it happens. That thought makes me smile. Here’s the name tag to go with it: “Nature: Chief Architect of Souls”. Likin’ it!
