I’m being very philosophical this week! But you can handle it, yes? I’ve been thinking about things.
In counting miracles everyday, there seems to be those formed around certain actions we take. One of those is forgiveness…
It was brought home again recently when Vic Gundotra answered my final question on a recent episode of The Chat . He said: “Forgiving other people is really the best gift you can give yourself.”
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve begun to appreciate the sheer enormity – the utter power – of Forgiveness. To hear Vic talk about it was so great – because sometimes hearing deeper truths from unexpected sources shines a different light on them in a new way. It’s one of the things I love about doing my show – sharing surprising insights that happen unexpected ways.
I don’t know if you know Danielle LaPorte’s work or not. She is a truly awesome thought leader, author, speaker. She wrote a wonderful post about this very thing. Here’s the link to it.. It applies no matter who you are or what you do. In fact, you may have noticed I spoke about an experience with Dalai Lama in yesterday’s blog post. This is the entire context, since it was Danielle who had the experience.
Forgive & Move On
I used to say: Forgive but never forget. Until I learned what a double edged sword that is. The thing about Forgiveness is that it doesn’t create miracles until it’s unconditional. And “not forgetting” prolongs the pain that had to be forgiven in the first place, like an endless loop. Forgiveness shifts everything around it – past, present and future.
My daily aim now: Forgive and let the power of life, light and freedom heal, fill and seal figure out the rest – then see what’s next.
Usually, it’s something pretty miraculous!
