Art From a Brain Cuisinart
Whew! I knew September would be a whirlwind, I just didn’t expect it feel like I’d been in a Cuisinart!
I don’t mean painful-Cuisinart, like sticking your hand into a blender for real (step awaaaay from that thought!).
I just mean it’s like that moment when new people, experiences, ideas and possibilities all come thundering in like a tsunami and get whipped together like some crazy awesome new smoothie recipe!
These tasty ingredients hail from all over the world… and will be appearing soon in a blog post near you…
From Friends In Australia…
First, my sister-friend from down under Tanya Wallis left the southern hemisphere for the first time in her life and came to visit! OMG, what an amazing week!
to Photowalks in San Francisco...
Then there was Trey’s photowalk and getting to meet ‘n hug friends from all over… some of whom I’d only known online before. It was a reminder of how small this world really is; and how we are WAY more connected than we ever dreamed. 😉
to Hearing Voices In Canada…
Right after that I flew to Canada to speak about… VOICE of all things. I mean I WAS a voice and performance coach for over 25 years, but I stopped doing that maybe 10 years ago. Suddenly… there’s an audience of women entrepreneurs, begging for more. The talk went fabulously (thanks for asking!) and it has me looking again at that whole area. Seems everything that happens lately has me looking at things with new eyes of Possibility!
to Top Secretsville in Laguna Hills
Then I flew to Laguna Hills to see my work printed with a soon-to-be-patented process created by my awesome custom printers Davinci Digitale… and made a video about it – and them because you just HAVE to meet them! They just GET IT… and are simply one-of-a-kind.
to Speaking in NYC…
I just submitted my talk topics for Photo Plus Expo, the largest photography event in North America that runs from Oct. 21-24. I’ll be speaking at the Fuji booth on 3 consecutive days on art, life and giving your Soul a voice!
to Health, Thank Goodness.
I broke a crown on my tooth, had a mole scare and a tweaked back. And know what? It’s ALL FINE! I got it all checked out and am good to go and as grateful as they come. (Oh yeah… I’m having that busted crown replaced with gold. Every girl wants to wear a gold crown at least once in her life! hehheh)
Now Breeeathe. Let It All Out…
So yeah. I needed a moment. I did what I always do when I find myself walking in circles, feverishly writing notes on scraps of paper, muttering under my breath. I stop. Take a moment. And turned my muse loose on an image. I do love what comes out of these moments… it’s always unexpected.
I think of it kind of like doodling. Hey, you should consider doing it yourself sometime! It’s fun to see what comes out if you let it.
In this case, I used 8 of my own textures from The Inspirarium, added balloons, played with the light, colors… and generally created an animated-like alternate reality where fun things live and play. I’d had this image laying around for a few years, wondering what to do with it. Seems it needed to be Cuisinarted. Who knew??
