A Letter to My Younger, Fiery, Entrepreneurial Self

I was always an entrepreneur

I can’t think of a time when I wasn’t an entrepreneur. Of course, back in the day we didn’t call it that. Yet, I built a profession of some sort within every discipline of my life; equestrian sports, acting, dance, figure skating, voice. By today’s reckoning I became an entrepreneur before I was 20. I’ve never stopped.

Lately – though I’m not sure exactly why now – I’ve been asked things like “What have you learned?”, “What do you wish you’d done differently?” and “If you could give advice to your younger self, what would you tell her, having all the knowledge and experience you do today?

So I got to thinking about it… and about her. I was surprised to discover how much more I love and treasure her special brand of badassery now than I did back when I WAS her.  She was very angsty – and worried about EVERYTHING!

And yeah, I DO have some things I’d like to say to this younger, fiery, idealistic, funny, quirky, artistic and highly talented younger self ‘o mine. The advice is all about getting my mind right… because that was the one thing I wish I’d been better WAY at.

Still and all, we did manage to stay on the bike…

Soaking in a Sunset – with VIDA

I met with VIDA yesterday. It was A-MAZ-ING!!! (I shared what I’m working on with them in this recent post.)

I’ll have photos and video soon… cause OF COURSE I want to keep y’all in the loop. I got to see sample pieces with my images on them… they’re gorrrrrgeous! Plus I got to visit with Umaimah Mendhro, who is like a sister-of-the-heart in her approach to art and life. I really believe in what she’s doing and the good that can be done in the world.  I walked away excited, humbled, inspired and completely stoked for all that’s coming next!

“VIDA” is such a wonderful name for a vibrant company that makes beautiful things and has a global consciousness.  In Spanish, vida means “life”; in Persian, it means “a rare find”; in Hebrew, it means “beloved”; and in Sanskrit, it means “wisdom.” All of these – and more – are at play and about to unfold in touchable, wearable, purchasable form in the KHutt world. It’s a new beginning… and a continuation of a life journey!

I though a moment by the water with a beautiful sunset might be a way to soak it all in…

Simple Pleasures

I’m Not Particularly Simple. But Sometimes...

Simple is good.
Like a pat on the back, a refreshing minty drink – or staring at the sky when the sky is on fire whilst out for a walk.
The latter was my reality selection a couple of weeks ago, when I wanted to get awaaaayyyyyy from the computer for a bit.
Warm, summer evenings are so irresistible!
And so are skies like this one, which felt like it was sent just to me.

I expressed my deepest gratitude. 😉
