About My Story
Light is my favorite subject and my muse.
Always has been. When I was a kid, I had a vision where I was standing on stage, and a very large column of light ran down through my head and out through my mouth, hands and mid-section … out into the space, where it washed over people. It healed them. They walked out transformed.
It wasn’t so much about me on personal level than it was about the power of light. It’s message has informed everything I’ve created as an artist since.
FUN FACT: I’VE ACTUALLY SEEN THE LIGHT.
Yes, that one where you see your great grandpa and your childhood dog waiting for you on the other side. I’ve had some dark, rough patches and thought about ending it all a couple of times but thankfully chickened out.
Then, in 2006…
I ALMOST KICKED THE BUCKET FOR REAL.
Not by choice.
A dental implant gone wrong brought me to the brink of death & I said HELL NO.
That was a wakeup call to give my life, and my art, all I’ve got.
ART IS A TOUGH THING, RIGHT?
I’m sure you know the deal. If you’re an artist of one kind, you’re probably an artist of many kinds. Because like light, artistry and passion flood everywhere. They pour through cracks.
That’s how one ends up a teacher-speaker-voiceover artist-horse trainer-figure-skater-slash-SAD CLOWN AND I’M NOT KIDDING FIGURE SKATER.
You’ve probably got a few hyphens of your own.
BECAUSE YOU CAN’T SHUT OFF THAT LIGHT. YOU NEED TO LET IT SHINE.
I create my art to fill a room with light, with the brushstroke of creation.
To bring out your soul’s genius.
When you’re in the thick of it, trying to create your thing….
When you’re stuck for an idea, or need a push to keep going…
When you can’t break your momentum to go out for that walk…
You can look up at a photo full of light, feel transported, and get a full-body jolt of inspiration.
REAL ARTISTS SURROUND THEMSELVES WITH ART. AND LIGHT.
Let’s bounce our light off each other.
I want you to own one of my photos. Or more.
They’ll collaborate with you —
toss light and inspiration out at you, so you can respond with your brilliance.

Thanks for stopping by. Your light shines on me, too. I’m feelin’ it.
And to answer your question, yes. I really was a clown on ice.
