The Arcanum: Margaret Gaines

This is the final installment in a 6-part series about my incredible experience as a Master in The Arcanum… and my stunningly inspiring Level 20 graduates.

A Little Background..

Those of you who follow this blog know that I’m one of the 6 original Inception Masters in the Arcanum.

Back when it all first started, I wrote a two-part blog post about what it all meant to me: The Arcanum, Magical Academy of Artistic Mastery.

I’m including these links on each of these highlight posts, since new folks are entering our little KHutt blog world over here every week. Wouldn’t want to leave any of you guys out!

The Arcanum: Dave Garber

Giving Thanks for Being a Master in The Arcanum

Today being Thanksgiving, it seemed appropriate to share this story.
First, those of you who follow this blog know that I’m one of the 6 original Inception Masters in the Arcanum.
Back when it all first started, I wrote a two-part blog post about what it all meant to me: The Arcanum, Magical Academy of Artistic Mastery.

I’m including these links on each of these highlight posts, since new folks are coming on board every week. Wouldn’t want to leave you guys out!

Now, 8 months later, I’m highlighting my Level 20 grads on my blog. I’m doing it because each of them has been on an incredible journey of spirit, soul and creativity. Their stories need to be shared. I’m doing it because they were the first bunch to take the leap when the Arcanum was still a baby in beta. I think each one’s story is incredibly inspiring, each in their own unique way. And I want you to meet them, because through them, you might just find that much-needed bit of inspiration or encouragement you were seeking, at just this moment in time. As they say, it takes a village!

Meet Dave Garber

So today, I’d like to introduce you to Dave Garber.
We got to meet in real life for the first time this week at the San Diego Zoo. So awesome! This was a photo we took right before the video we made for our cohort back home. It follows…

On Being a Master in The Arcanum

Now, some months later, amazing things have happened… and I’m featuring a few of them here on my blog.

Featuring Sandra Carlock

Today… Sandra Carlock. Concert pianist, photographer, teacher – and one of my Apprentices just now graduating from Sphere 1, Level 20 (the first big leap in progress there!). As a concert pianist, she travels and performs around the world. As a music teacher, she holds the Arthur Judson Distinguished Faculty Chair in Piano at the Settlement School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a photographer… she shares her signature point of view of the world as she sees, feels and experiences it – while she travels and teaches and does all the above.

On November 16, she gives an invitation-only concert celebrating her 70th birthday (officially making her one of my heroes!)… which will also feature a showing of 35 of her finest photographs.

I got to meet Sandra in person (after working closely with her in The Arcanum for almost 8 months) when I went to New York a couple of weeks ago. We made this video on my iPhone of this auspicious meeting for the rest of our cohort gang. Can I just say… meeting amazing people that you’ve only known through hangouts and an online community feels… strangely… normal! And also full of heart, soul and joy…

The Arcanum Has Begun! (in Beta) Part 2

In Part 1 of this mystical journey, I told you about being part of the The Arcanum’s launch. Of course, typical of me – there is also the inner journey!

What The Heck IS a Master, Anyway?

In the beginning,  I wondered what being a Master really meant. Community is huge in The Arcanum – and the idea of a Master’s role not to “teach” in the same sense as my 35 years of experience would dictate. Our job here in the beginning is to step back, let the community develop, carefully watch the conversations – and let folks discover their rhythm and their answers. At first, I wondered how a group of peers could grow together and not simply be “the blind leading the blind?” It was a question I grappled with for awhile.

The Arcanum Has Begun! (in Beta) Part 1

The Arcanum

You may have heard Trey Ratcliff talking about it. Noticed some buzz around it. Wondered what the heck it was and how it worked.
I’m one of the beta team of Masters in The Arcanum – and even I had a ton of questions! I had waited. Contributed ideas when needed as it developed. Got updates along the way. Watched it begin to unfold, evolve.

Then last week, I had my final pre-launch meeting with Trey, Curtis Simmons and Peter Giordano. They are the mighty trinity implementing Trey’s The Arcanum, Magical Academy of Artistic Mastery. By the end of that meeting, I’d invited my first 3 Apprentices!

My startled thought: “Gulp! Uhhh… I guess I’m starting now!”
And so, my awesome first Cohort began.
